PPL Credit for Survey Participation
If you are a PNCB-certified nursing professional who completed our Pediatric Nursing Workforce Study in the summer of 2023, use the instructions below to add your 1 Professional Practice Linkages credit (worth 10 contact hours) to your ReCErt Tracker or Recert application.
PNCB certifications include:
- Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN)
- Acute Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-AC)
- Primary Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-PC)
- Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist (PMHS)

Tips:
- To apply the PPL on your Recert application, you will need to select a Recert method that includes PPL.
- A maximum of 1 PPL is accepted per Recert application.
- 1 PPL is worth 10 contact hours for your Recert.
- You have 24 months from July 2023 to apply the credit to your PNCB recertification application.
To Add Directly on a Recert Application:
- Log into your portal during 2024 or 2025 Recert.
- On your Recert application, choose a Recert method that includes Professional Practice Linkages (PPL) as a component.
- When you see the PPL screen, choose Committee as Type.
- Enter the date you completed the survey for both Start Date and Completed Date.
- Enter the name/description as: 2023 IPN Workforce Survey.
To Add on your ReCErt Tracker:
- Log into your portal.
- Under Navigation on the left, click ReCErt Tracker.
- Scroll to the area labeled Contact Hours. Click the blue Add Contact Hours button.
- Then click the blue Add button.
- In the dropdown to Select Contact Hour Type, choose Professional Practice Linkages.
- For Details, choose Committee.
- Enter the date you completed the survey for both Start Date and Completed Date.
- Enter the name/description as: 2023 IPN Workforce Survey.
- Answer "No" to the pediatric DBMH content question.
- Click Save.
- Then when it's time to use the Recert application: be sure to select a Recert application method that includes PPL. You have 24 months from July 2023 to apply the credit to your PNCB recertification application.
